Contacts and Invoice Roles
Contacts are the people at a Client. Each contact’s role decides whether they get your Invoice emails.
Add a Contact
Section titled “Add a Contact”- Go to Clients and click Add Contact.
- Under Client, pick the Client.
- Enter a First Name and Last Name.
- Enter their Email.
- Optional: add a Title and Phone Number.
- Choose a Contact Type. See Contact Types.
- Click Add Contact.
You can also add a contact from Add New › New Contact in the top menu, or from the Contacts section on a Client’s page.
Contact Types
Section titled “Contact Types”| Contact Type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Primary Billing Contact | Gets your Invoices by default. A Client can have one. |
| Include in Invoice Emails (CC) | Copied on your Invoice emails. |
| Basic Contact | Doesn’t get Invoices. You can change their type later. |
Changing the Primary Billing Contact
Section titled “Changing the Primary Billing Contact”A Client can only have one Primary Billing Contact. If you pick it for a new contact, hrglass asks Reassign Primary Billing Contact? Click Yes, Reassign to switch.
How Roles Are Used
Section titled “How Roles Are Used”- When you send an Invoice, the Primary Billing Contact is filled in as the recipient, and CC contacts are copied.
- Auto-sent recurring Invoices go to the Primary Billing Contact.
You can only send an Invoice to contacts on that Client. To send to someone new, add them as a contact first.
See All Contacts
Section titled “See All Contacts”On the Clients page, open the Contacts tab. The Invoice Roles column shows who gets Invoices. To edit a contact, click the edit icon in its Actions column.
