Custom Reports

Need numbers the dashboard doesn’t show? Build your own report. Pick the time period, narrow it to the Clients, Projects or people you care about, and choose what to include.

  1. Go to Reports and open Custom Report Generator.
  2. Pick a Timeframe (below).
  3. Set any filters you want (below).
  4. Under Data Sections to Include, check what you want in the report. Click Check All or Uncheck All to toggle everything.
  5. Click Run Report.

Want to start over? Click Clear Filters.

Choose This Week, This Month, Last Month, This Quarter, Last Quarter, This Year, Last Year or All Time. Or pick Custom Range and set From and To dates.

Every filter starts at “all”. Narrow down as much as you like:

  • Client and Project
  • Task and Task Status
  • Team Member
  • Invoice Status
  • Expense Status, Expense Category and Expense Billable

Include archived items is on to start. Turn it off to leave archived Projects and Tasks out.

Section What it covers
Revenue Your total revenue for the period.
Net Profit Your profit for the period.
Projects Each Project’s hours, budget and spending.
Tasks Each Task’s hours and cost.
Time Tracking Individual time entries.
Invoices Each Invoice with its amount, what’s been paid and refunded.
Budget How Projects are tracking against their budgets.
Expenses Each expense and its amount.
Credits Client credits and what’s left of them.

The report opens on its own page, with the date it was generated. From there:

  • Modify Filters takes you back to change the setup.
  • Save Report saves the setup so you can run it again.
  • Download CSV downloads the report for a spreadsheet.

If your workspace rounds time, switch between Rounded and Raw hours.

  1. On your report, click Save Report.
  2. Enter a Report Name, like Monthly client summary.
  3. Click Save Report.

Saved reports live in the Saved Reports tab. Each one shows its timeframe and when you saved it. Click Run to run it again with fresh numbers. Click the trash icon to delete it.

Saved reports keep the timeframe, not the dates. A saved This Month report always shows the current month.
