Turning an Accepted Estimate Into a Project
When your Client accepts an estimate, you don’t have to set the job up again. hrglass turns it into a Project with a Task for each item.
What You Get
Section titled “What You Get”| From the estimate | In the new Project |
|---|---|
| Estimate name and description | Project name and description |
| Client | Client |
| Budget | Budget |
| Start and end dates | Project dates, and each Task’s start and due dates |
| Each item | A Task, with the same billing type (Fixed Cost or Hourly Rate) and price |
| Optional add-ons your Client picked | Tasks too. Add-ons they didn’t pick are left out. |
The Project and its Tasks start with your first status.
Recurring Items
Section titled “Recurring Items”Recurring Interval items don’t become Tasks. Instead, when your Client accepts, hrglass sets up a recurring Invoice for each one, using the amount, cadence and proposed start date from the estimate. This happens whether the Project is created automatically or not.
These recurring Invoices start paused, so nothing is billed until you’ve checked them. Go to Invoices, open the Recurring view, review each one and turn it on. See Recurring Invoices.
Automatic or Manual
Section titled “Automatic or Manual”By default, hrglass creates the Project the moment your Client accepts. You’ll get a notification saying the estimate was accepted and converted.
Rather do it yourself? Turn off Auto convert accepted estimates into Projects with Tasks in Settings › Estimate Settings. Accepting then only marks the estimate Accepted.
To create the Project yourself:
- Open the accepted estimate.
- Click Create Project.
Once the Project exists, the estimate shows View Project instead.
