Team Notification Defaults

On a Team plan, hrglass sends two kinds of notifications:

  • Activity alerts go to you, the Owner, when your team does things in the workspace.
  • Assignment and mention alerts go to your members when work is handed to them or a teammate mentions them.

You decide which ones are on for everyone to start. Each person can still change their own.

  1. Go to Settings › Owner Settings.
  2. Open the Notification Defaults tab.
  3. Turn each notification on or off.

Each change saves right away. Everything is on until you turn it off.

These go to the Owner. They tell you when a member:

  • adds a Project, Task, To-Do, Client, contact, service, estimate or saved report
  • logs time
  • completes a Project, Task or To-Do
  • updates a Project, Task, service, estimate, Client or contact
  • submits a timesheet

You’ll also find alerts here about data imports and Retainer funding paid late.

A busy team can make a lot of noise. Turn off the ones you don’t need, like Member Added Time Entry.

Member Notifications (Assignments & Mentions)

Section titled “Member Notifications (Assignments & Mentions)”

These go to your members. They tell them when:

  • they’re assigned to a Project or Task
  • a deadline on their Project or Task is coming up
  • their timesheet is approved or sent back
  • a teammate mentions them

They can also get a monthly status of their assigned Projects and Tasks.

A default only applies to people who haven’t picked for themselves. Once someone turns a notification on or off in their own profile, their choice wins.

This includes you. Your own settings in Profile › Notifications come first. See In-App Notifications.

Defaults only cover notifications under the bell, not emails.
