Starting and Stopping Timers
A Timer tracks time against one Task. That time rolls up to the Project and is ready to go on your next Invoice.
Start a Timer
Section titled “Start a Timer”- Click Start timer in the top menu.
- Pick the Project.
- Pick the Task.
- Optional: add Notes about what you’re working on.
- Click Start Timer.
The Timer starts right away and shows as Active.
You can also start one from:
- the Timer page, with Start New Timer
- a Task’s menu, with Start Timer
- your favorites on the Timer page (see below)
Leave Manual Time empty to run a live Timer. If you fill it in, the button changes to Save Time and hrglass saves that amount as a finished entry.
One-Click Timers From Favorites
Section titled “One-Click Timers From Favorites”Star the Tasks you work on most. See Creating and Editing Tasks. Your most-used favorites show on the Timer page under Instant timers · your most-used favorites. Click one to start a Timer with no questions asked.
Pause and Resume
Section titled “Pause and Resume”On the Timer page, click Pause to take a break. Click Resume to pick up where you left off.
To start fresh on the same Task instead, click Start a new timer for this task.
Stop a Timer
Section titled “Stop a Timer”While a Timer runs, a banner shows at the top of every page except the Timer page. Click Stop in the banner. hrglass tells you how much time it recorded.
To see the Timer itself, click Go to timer.
See Your Time
Section titled “See Your Time”The Timer page shows your hours for Today and This Week, plus the Projects you worked on this week and this month. Use the date filters and All Projects to narrow it down. This Week lists every entry, with Non-billable marked.
A Locked entry has been invoiced, or submitted on a weekly timesheet, so its time can’t change.
Can’t Pick a Task?
Section titled “Can’t Pick a Task?”The Task list only shows Tasks in the Project you picked. Create the Task first. See Creating and Editing Tasks.
