Favorite Tasks and Instant Timers

Work on the same few Tasks most days? Star them. Favorite Tasks give you one-click Timers on the Timer page, with no forms to fill in.

Your favorites are yours alone. Teammates have their own.

Click the star next to a Task’s name. It turns green, and you’ll see Added to favorites. You’ll find the star:

  • in Edit Task, next to Task Name
  • in Start timer, next to Task, once you pick one
  • on the Timer page, next to each entry and on your running Timer

On the Tasks page, there’s no star on the row. Open the actions menu at the end of the row and choose Favorite instead.

Your 3 most recently used favorites show as buttons on the Timer page, under Instant timers · your most-used favorites.

  1. Go to the Timer page.
  2. Make sure the date filter is set to Today.
  3. Click a button.

The Timer starts right away and you’ll see Timer started.

The buttons stay in the same order while you’re on the page, so they don’t jump around as you click. They catch up the next time you open it.

All your favorites are one click away, even beyond the top 3.

  1. On the Timer page, click the star button next to Start New Timer.
  2. Find the Task. Favorites are grouped by Project, with a Hourly, Fixed or Non-billable badge.
  3. Click the Task’s name or the play button to start a Timer.

No favorites yet? The list says No favorites yet. Star a task to add it here. Click Go to Tasks to find some.

Have more than 10? hrglass suggests trimming the list so it stays quick to use.

Click the green star again. It turns gray, and you’ll see Removed from favorites. In the favorites list, hover over a Task to see its star.

Favorites clean up after themselves. If a Task or its Project is archived or deleted, it drops off your list.
