Idle Detection
It happens. You start a Timer, get pulled into a call, and come back two hours later. Idle detection catches that so you don’t bill a Client for your lunch break.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”While a Timer runs, hrglass watches for activity in your browser, like moving the mouse, typing or scrolling. If there’s none for a while, it asks Still tracking? and shows how long you’ve been away.
Pick one:
- Keep tracking it keeps all the time on the Timer.
- Remove takes the idle time off the Timer. The button shows how much, like Remove 1h 20m.
The Timer keeps running either way.
Working in Another App
Section titled “Working in Another App”Writing in a doc or designing in another app? hrglass can’t see that, so it may think you’re idle.
When the prompt shows up, check I’m working in another app before you pick an option. hrglass stops asking for the rest of that Timer.
You’ll see Idle detection paused for this session under the Timer. Click Re-enable to turn it back on.
Change How Long Before It Asks
Section titled “Change How Long Before It Asks”The default is 90 minutes.
- Click your photo at the top right and choose Profile.
- Open the Workspaces tab.
- Under Idle Detection, pick a time from Idle detection sensitivity. You can choose anything from 5 minutes to 2 hours.
It saves right away. To turn idle detection off, pick None (off).
This setting is yours alone, and it applies in every workspace you’re in. A change kicks in the next time you start a Timer.
